چکیده
We test the hypothesis that tree species previously known as Deinbollia sp. 2 . is a new for science. formally characterise and name this onanae (Sapindaceae-Litchi clade) we discuss it in context of assemblage montane Cameroon Highlands West-Central Africa. The shade-bearing, non-pioneer understorey forest reaching 15 m high trunk diameter can attain over 40 cm at 1.3 above ground. Seed dispersal has been recorded by chimpanzees ( Pan troglodytes ellioti ) putty-nose monkeys Cercopithecus nictitans used nesting. highest species-diversity endemism African-Western Indian Ocean genus 42, mainly lowland species. an infrequent from six locations surviving islands (sometimes also upper submontane) along line Highlands, including one Ngel Nyaki Mambilla, Nigeria. here assessed Endangered according to IUCN 2012 standard, threatened severe fragmentation its mountain habitat due extensive ongoing clearance agriculture. majority 28 (above 2000 alt.) are widespread East African mountains (i.e. Afromontane wide). only seven be endemic (globally restricted to) these highlands. It postulated morphologically closest oreophila, frequent lower (submontane) altitudinal band same range. Detailed ecological data on Nigerian location, Nyaki, where under “pinnata”, reviewed.
